Some of the best applications come from a need or a solution to a specific problem.

Creating autorun files for USB keys or CDs and DVDs to make things run when you open them is a pain. Then you need a menu to suit your company's image, you could find a program or make an HTA but it takes time.

I solved the second one first by creating a menu program that had a couple of buttons to launch items. I decided to make it configurable (at least the menu items) so colleagues at work could use it for presentations. I had to change the images etc in code however.

I realised it would be handy if I could have images as buttons, or change the menu name, change the images and configure the items or even an unlimited number by introducing the ability to move previous and next.  I also wanted to make it easier for them to change it without requiring a developer. Well now YOU can take advantage of this.

You can create a good looking customised menu in no time.

The menu uses the Windows Shell Commands allowing you to perform actions including the ability to open, edit or print files.

You can easily launch web pages in the default browser on the client machine whether they are saved to the same drive or whether they are online.

Run launch applications or for more powerful functionality you could launch a vb script or batch file which could perform multiple actions.

So how does it work? The entire program is contained in a single file. Run LaunchMe.exe in your preferred location and a default menu will be created. Edit this menu to create your masterpiece.  You can replace all menu items, html pages and images.

Installation
LaunchMe.exe should be run on a USB key or in a folder as it will generate configuration files when first run. A setup wizard will guide you through these steps.

If you reset the application by deleting the configuration files then in the default template an Update Check button will appear.
