When connecting high resolution television screens to a computer the high resolution you want for your video often lets you down when you are trying to enter text while sitting on the couch as you squint at the screen to read what you just typed, even spelling that URL can take a while...

Australian Shortcuts was my solution. It is a simple, clear, colorful shortcut menu application providing you easy access to the top web sites in specific areas, including 9 of the top 10 sites of 2009 viewed by Australians according to Google.

Shortcuts are split into six sections; TV, News, Music, Real Estate, Technology and Search. Each section includes 6 shortcuts to the top sites. Sites are skewed towards high speed broadband users with video shortcuts. Site links on the individual pages will open your desired site with only an address bar and scrollbar if required, with no other toolbars to interrupt your screen real estate.

Now with big clear icons I CAN sit on the couch with my wireless mouse and open the site I want and begin watching streamed video instead of fumbling around with the keyboard and squinting to see what I just typed into the address bar.

Australian Shortcuts is a self extracting application. All components are self contained and will extract each time it is run meaning no installation is required and it can be updated by simply replacing the file. The menus are actually HTML Applications (or HTAs) meaning they work like mini web browsers.

Simply save the file to your desktop and run. Use the update link to check for updates.
As this is a self extracting file containing html applications and images it may be considered a 'risk' by some antivirus scanners. This program has been scanned and tested prior to upload.
